SAP ePPDS Support Consultant (Embedded PP/DS)
Client: Leading global pharmaceutical company
Location: India (offshore delivery)
Engagement: Contract / Application Support – post S/4HANA go-live
Context
The client has recently gone live on SAP S/4HANA and is building out its application support (AMS) capability. This role supports the embedded Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (ePPDS) landscape, ensuring stable planning runs and rapid resolution of production scheduling issues across a regulated pharma manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for the embedded PP/DS solution in S/4HANA, including incident, problem and service request management within agreed SLAs.
- Troubleshoot heuristics, optimizer runs, PDS/PPM, planning board and detailed scheduling issues.
- Support integration between PP/DS and core PP, MM, and EWM, including pegging, source determination, and order conversion.
- Maintain master data setup (work centres/resources, production versions, PDS) and advise the business on planning configuration.
- Manage CIF integration where relevant, monitor queues, and resolve inconsistencies.
- Contribute to root-cause analysis, minor enhancements, and change requests through to deployment.
- Maintain documentation and adhere to GxP/validation and change-control processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and supporting SAP PP/DS, ideally embedded PP/DS on S/4HANA.
- Solid understanding of discrete and/or process manufacturing planning.
- Experience with heuristics, the optimizer, detailed scheduling, and the planning board.
- Familiarity with PP/DS integration to PP, MM, and EWM.
- AMS/support experience working to ITIL-aligned incident and change processes.
Preferred
- Pharmaceutical or other regulated (GxP) manufacturing background.
- Exposure to process orders, batch management, and shop-floor integration.
