Role Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP Developer to join an English-speaking project team immediately. This is a fully remote, 12-month contract opportunity open to candidates based in the EU or offshore. In this role, you will be pivotal in driving digital transformation by building robust custom applications and extensions. You will act as a champion for Clean Core principles, ensuring all developments are upgrade-safe and integrated seamlessly with S/4HANA. The ideal candidate is versatile—comfortable working as a hands-on individual contributor or collaborating within a wider team—and possesses strong expertise in Fiori, SAP Build Apps, and AI integration.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Application Development: Lead full-cycle implementations of Fiori and Build Apps on SAP Workzone and the SAP Start mobile app. This includes planning, design, build, deployment, and post-go-live support.
Clean Core Strategy: Collaborate closely with functional consultants and business process owners to enforce Clean Core principles. You will design upgrade-safe, side-by-side extensions that preserve the S/4HANA core standard using released APIs and event-driven integration.
UI/UX Design: Design and build robust custom SAP Fiori apps and side-by-side extensions. You will develop intuitive user interfaces using Fiori Elements and SAP Build Apps to ensure a seamless, consistent experience across all devices.
BTP Management: Manage, deploy, and troubleshoot applications within the SAP BTP runtime environment (Cloud Foundry).
AI Integration: Integrate intelligent features into business processes using prebuilt SAP AI Business Services and generative AI models via SAP AI Core.
Primary Skillset (Must Have)
Front-End Development: Extensive experience with SAP Business Application Studio, including both Fiori Elements and freestyle applications.
Low-Code/No-Code: Proven experience in building and deploying applications using SAP Build Apps.
Platform Expertise: Strong skills in deploying and managing applications on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry.
Mobile & Portal: Experience implementing SAP Workzone and SAP Start mobile app solutions.
Architecture: Deep understanding of Clean Core principles, side-by-side extensibility, and event-driven architecture.
AI Capabilities: Experience utilizing SAP AI Core to implement GenAI models and AI Business Services.
Collaboration: Flexible approach to working as either a team member or an individual contributor based on project priorities.
Nice to Have
Exposure to SAP CAPM (Cloud Application Programming Model), specifically using Node.js.
In-depth knowledge of SAP AI Launchpad and a demonstrated ability to integrate complex AI/ML capabilities into enterprise business applications.
