The Role
Our client, a global medical devices manufacturer, is undertaking a full S/4HANA Greenfield transformation. We are seeking an experienced S/4HANA Solution Architect with a Finance functional background to own the end-to-end design and architecture of the Finance work stream, ensuring it integrates cleanly with the wider S/4HANA landscape. This is a senior, hands-on architecture role — not a pure PM position. You'll be shaping the target design, running fit-to-standard workshops, and acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and the technical build teams.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end functional solution architecture for Finance within the S/4HANA Greenfield programme
Lead fit-to-standard/fit-gap workshops with business stakeholders to define target processes
Define the Finance solution blueprint, ensuring alignment with SAP best-practice and the client's business requirements
Work closely with architects from other functional streams (e.g. Supply Chain, Manufacturing) to ensure end-to-end process integration
Provide functional leadership and quality assurance across the Finance build, configuration, and testing phases
Advise on and validate integration points with other S/4HANA modules and third-party systems
Support governance forums, steering committees, and design authority sessions as the Finance solution authority
Candidate Profile
Strong, demonstrable background in SAP Finance functionality (e.g. FI/CO, Central Finance, Treasury, or related areas), with genuine depth rather than broad generalist exposure
Proven experience as a Solution Architect (not just a functional consultant) on at least one full-cycle S/4HANA Greenfield implementation
Comfortable operating at a high level — designing end-to-end architecture, not just configuring individual modules
Experience in a regulated or complex manufacturing environment (life sciences, pharma, medical devices) is a plus
Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
Fluent English required; German language skills highly desirable
Willing and able to travel to Frankfurt 2–3 days per week, at least every other week
