The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a business-critical transformation of our client’s internal communications landscape. The primary focus of this role is the complete overhaul and strategic implementation of a modern Intranet system (SharePoint-based) to enhance employee engagement and streamline internal information flow.

This is a consultative, hands-on leadership role requiring a blend of technical SharePoint expertise and a deep understanding of internal communication workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Delivery: Lead the digital transformation of the client's Intranet, from initial requirements gathering through to deployment and user adoption.

  • SharePoint Strategy: Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for SharePoint-driven solutions, ensuring the platform is optimized for internal news, document management, and collaborative workflows.

  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Corporate Communications, IT, and HR to align technical delivery with organizational messaging and culture.

  • Process Optimization: Audit existing internal communication processes and design "to-be" workflows that reduce silos and improve transparency.

  • Change Management: Oversee the transition strategy to ensure high user adoption across a diverse, multi-location workforce.

  • Reporting: Provide regular progress updates to the steering committee, managing budgets, risks, and timelines effectively.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years in IT Project Management, specifically leading Intranet or Internal Communications transformations.

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

  • Communication: Native or fluent German is mandatory (written and spoken), as the project involves deep integration with German-speaking business units.

  • Seniority: Proven ability to manage complex projects independently and influence C-level stakeholders.

  • Flexibility: Ability to start at 2–3 days per week, with the capacity to increase hours as project milestones intensify.

  • Mobility: Comfortable working remotely with a commitment to travel to Germany for 2–3 days per month for onsite workshops/alignment.
