Partner/Director: Business Development Manager, Life Sciences

We are supporting the board and CEO of a leading life sciences and chemical management consultancy to help them hire a senior leader to support continued growth in the region. The brand was founded in Germany in 1980, has the same family ownership since day one, no debt and a strong reputation. This role sits in a strategic spin-off consultancy with 120+ people and is part of a larger group with over 10k employees globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expands the Life Science business unit across Pharma, Biotech, and MedTech, with a strong focus on Data Value Management and Manufacturing IT.
  • Builds and nurtures new client relationships, identifies strategic business opportunities, and drives project acquisition through a personal network and cross organizational collaboration.
  • Leads digitalization and harmonization initiatives in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including system evaluation, MES implementation, and integration into complex IT landscapes.
  • Oversees conceptual, compliance related, and governance activities within regulated GxP environments, including Computer System Validation (CSV).
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and professional development for project teams.
  • Shapes internal portfolio development, contributes to capability building, and supports activities such as recruitment and training.
  • Enhances organizational visibility through conference participation, industry engagement, and thought leadership contributions.
Profile
  • Extensive experience in consulting or strategic in house roles within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Deep expertise in Manufacturing IT (MES) and ideally hands?on experience with regulated systems (CSV, GxP).
  • Strong understanding of end to end pharmaceutical business processes.
  • Professional, confident presence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high sense of ownership and proven leadership experience.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Well established industry network and a strong track record in client relationship management and project acquisition.
