Partner / Director – Strategic Account Lead (Cloud & AI Transformation)

Role Overview
A global consulting organisation is seeking a senior Partner / Director to lead one of Germany’s most prominent and influential software industry clients. This individual will serve as the executive sponsor for the account, responsible for shaping, growing, and steering a multi-year, multi?disciplinary relationship with the client’s top leadership.
The role is centred on driving strategic transformation programmes across cloud modernisation, AI and data strategy, digital innovation, platform architecture, and enterprise operating model evolution.
This position is ideal for an accomplished senior consulting leader with strong commercial acumen, deep technology expertise, and the credibility to partner with C?level stakeholders in a leading global software business.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Client Leadership
  • Act as the senior relationship owner for the client, serving as trusted advisor to C?suite and board-level executives.
  • Shape long-term strategic agendas relating to cloud, AI, digital transformation, data-driven growth, and new business models.
  • Strengthen political alignment across global client entities, ensuring the firm is positioned as a thought leader and innovation partner.
Cloud & AI Transformation Advisory
  • Lead strategic conversations on cloud modernisation, multi?cloud architecture, cloud economics, and operating model transformation.
  • Define, influence, and oversee AI strategy development—including generative AI, intelligent automation, responsible AI, and data governance.
  • Align technology strategy with business value creation, innovation goals, and market competitiveness.
Commercial Leadership & Account Growth
  • Own full P&L, revenue planning, and multi-year account strategy for one of the firm's most significant German clients.
  • Identify, shape, and convert strategic opportunities across consulting, technology, managed services, and alliances.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contracting, and financial management for major transformation programmes.
Portfolio & Delivery Governance
  • Provide executive oversight for high-impact engagements across cloud, AI, data, cyber, and enterprise transformation.
  • Ensure rigorous delivery governance, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and escalation resolution.
  • Drive consistency, quality, and innovation across all workstreams and partner teams.
Firm Leadership & People Development
  • Lead and inspire a cross-disciplinary team of partners, directors, senior managers, and technical specialists.
  • Mentor emerging leaders and create succession plans to strengthen the firm’s leadership pipeline.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, go?to?market strategies, and internal innovation initiatives.

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 12–15+ years in top-tier consulting, with significant experience in cloud, AI, digital transformation, or technology strategy.
  • Proven track record managing and growing strategic accounts at executive level.
  • Expertise in modern cloud architectures, AI/ML technologies, data platforms, and digital operating models.
  • Demonstrated credibility and influence with senior executive teams in large enterprises—ideally within the software or technology sector.
  • Fluent German and English.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior P&L responsibility for a major account or business unit.
