Our client, a leading Big 4 consulting firm, is seeking a senior Cyber Security Director or Partner to lead and expand its Financial Services Cyber practice. This role focuses on advising banks, insurers, asset managers and market infrastructure institutions on cyber strategy, resilience, regulatory compliance and large-scale security transformation. The successful candidate will shape the firm’s market offering, lead major engagements, and build long-term relationships at C?suite level, including CISOs, CROs and CIOs.

The role will lead and grow work across topics including:
Cyber Security Strategy & Operating Model Design
Defining enterprise cyber strategy, risk appetite and target operating models
Designing governance models, metrics, and cyber defence capabilities
Cyber Risk, Resilience & Regulatory Compliance
Supporting compliance with financial services regulations (e.g. DORA, BAIT/VAIT, ECB guidelines, ISO standards)
Building and assessing cyber resilience, incident response and crisis management frameworks
Security Architecture & Technology Advisory
Advising on cloud security, identity management, network security and zero trust architectures
Designing secure platforms and technology roadmaps aligned with digital transformation initiatives
Cyber Transformation Delivery
Leading multi-year cyber uplift programmes across large banks and insurers
Supporting implementation across people, processes and technology layers
Threat Intelligence & Security Operations
Enhancing threat detection, SOC capabilities, vulnerability management and threat modelling
Guiding organisations on emerging threats and regulatory expectations
Innovation & Emerging Technologies
Assessing impacts of AI, automation, quantum, and next-gen security technologies
Advising on secure adoption of cloud, digital, and open banking ecosystems
Your Profile
We are seeking an accomplished cyber security leader with:
Extensive experience in cyber security within Financial Services, either from consulting or industry
Deep knowledge of cyber frameworks, regulatory expectations, and financial services risk environments
Proven track record in leading major cyber transformation programmes
Strong commercial capabilities including sales leadership, proposal development and revenue growth
Ability to influence C?suite stakeholders and act as a trusted strategic advisor
Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams and developing senior consulting talent
Strong conceptual, analytical and communication skills
Fluent German and English (written and spoken)

Oversee cross-functional teams across strategy, technology and risk
Ensure delivery quality, governance and risk management
Lead, Develop & Scale the Team
Recruit, mentor and develop senior managers and managers in the cyber domain
Build capability across emerging areas such as cloud security, cyber resilience and digital identity
Foster an inclusive, collaborative and performance-oriented culture
